#HereComeTheOilers

All true my friend. The reason Hunt was recalled is because he is 4th in AHL scoring among defensemen and that is something that we need right now.

I'd probably blame the coach on that one.

They should have set a rule at the last BOG meetings that no team can have more than two first overall picks in a five year period, retroactive to the start of the last CBA.

Brad Hunt's offensive ability has never been his problem.

If the 14 teams that missed the PO had equal opportunity to draft first there would be no tanking

Yay! First again! Plan the parade for McDavid. New arena. New first overall pick. Life as an Oiler fan can't get any better!

Well last time he was here he still couldn't produce. His defensive woes are the stuff of nightmares but if Eakins can keep him under 15 minutes a night and load him up on PP time then maybe it will be worth having him.

Yup I agree...too late to do anything this year. Unless they fudge the results in the backroom so the Oilers can't pick McDavid.

If it was Schultz down with injury and not potentially Fayne I would have less of a problem with Hunt. But Fayne is a defensive Defenseman. Replacing him with Hunt is comically stupid.

I agree with you about MM and AL, Matt....

But I'm wondering what you think the NHL could actually do if they did step in? It's a mess.

With Schultz not producing having Hunt to QB one of the pps is a good thing. If Schultz plays poorly then Eakins can give more minutes to Hunt. As for not recalling Marincin or Lander I don't understand that, maybe they don't want the Barons to lose their leader.

This team is pushing the boundaries of what it's fans can accept. They've pushed too far. I no longer have faith anyone associated with this club can do their jobs.

Nothing is worth having this train wreck of a hockey player on our team. The guy has 1 quality to his game. He can shoot the puck really hard. Although what good is it when he hardly ever gets it either on net or past the other teams defense. I don't get this whole philosophy that because our forwards aren't scoring we need a defenseman with offensive upside to come in and fix it. Hard to score goals when you can't get the puck out of your own end of the ice. Here's the secret to beating Brad Hunt 1 on 1. Ready for it? Skate around him.

Canucks have major issues too. No doubt about that. If you come over to Canucks blogs we are knocking the crap out of our team also.

At least Benning and Linden are trying

I'm not saying they CAN step in. I'm saying they NEED to step in. I doubt it's even possible for them to do it legally.

Another Oilers loss.

I'm writing the Oilers over the holidays and offering them my services to fix the organization... Hunter S. Thompson style.

They are still playing by the rules of the NHL. It is the league that needs to change policies

Well Eakins doesn't have a (frank)ing clue whats going on... What do you want him to do? Pay attention to the game? He has his wife to daydream about.
